Well it’s officially autumn and the darker evenings are well and truly drawing in! I can officially say I have indulged in hot chocolate (with added marshmallows of course!), put the heating on for the first time, lit the candles and succumbed to full on cosiness with blankets and the winter duvet! As much as I love summer I have to say I do have a soft spot for autumn…not only is it my birthday season (don’t worry, it’s not until November – you still have time to purchase something extravagant!) but I do love the snuggly vibes that these brisker evenings bring.
I’ve definitely been adding a few comforting details to our home and if you’re in the market for the ideal cosy addition for your autumnal atmosphere then this is the perfect post for you. A few weeks ago I had an exciting delivery from the Nina at Bristol In A Box and I can’t wait to share her clever creations with you!
Bristol In A Box
Bristol In A Box is a Bristol based lightbox company founded by Paris born and bred Nina. After relocating to Bristol six years ago and falling in love with the city (who doesn’t?!), Nina decided to use her inspirational new hometown as the basis for her fabulous prints. Originally celebrated for her photography work, Nina had the inspired idea to use her gorgeous shots to create unique lightboxes. During the day these framed beauties capture the essence of our eclectic city whilst by night they add a super cosy subtle light to the room.
Nina pours her heart and soul into her work and this is evident in the attention that she gives to each lightbox. Her Instagram page creatively documents the ‘behind the scenes’ action of how the lightboxes are carefully crafted, painted to perfection and then packaged with love. My lightbox arrived wrapped securely within a padded box, tied with a bow and then inside was a hand-stamped thank you card – it really had the personal touch. If you’re in the Bristol area Nina will even hand deliver your parcel to your door!
I’m actually surprised by just how much light projects from my lightbox and it really gives the feeling of warmth, comfort and relaxation – perfect for this grey days and chilly evenings! I love the bright yellow frame which compliments the cheerful bunting and adds a pop of colour to my minimal (yes, I love white furniture!) styled home. Nina has a range of photographs and frame colours to choose from (including shots from London, Paris and custom designs) and I’ve added a few of my top picks below – There And Back Again Lane is definitely one of my favourite Bristol street names!
If you would like to discover more of Nina’s artistic skills then head on over to the Bristol In A Box website and also check out her fab, colourful Instagram page to see her in action!
