Ladies, how many times have you headed out for the evening wearing your fanciest heels only to regret your fashionable, sober decision a few hours later? This is exactly what happened to Matt Horan’s (the inventor of Rollasole) girlfriend. After one too many times of providing her with the obligatory piggy back ride home (The Canadian has sadly suffered the same fate…oops!) he decided to take action! Matt (who hails from Bristol – hurrah!) was inspired to create a folding, rollable shoe that could provide long-suffering women with some much-needed relief after dancing the night away, whilst commuting, at events such as weddings or even be worn as an everyday ballet flat. Fast forward nine years later and Rollasole has become an international success after being featured in UK stores, The USA and Australia. When I first heard of the company I was super impressed to see in the top google results was a Rollasole vending machine at this year’s Golden Globe awards – pretty fancy!

So, when Rollasole got in touch with me and asked if I would like to trial and review a pair of their shoes I couldn’t possible refuse! I mean, I had seen pictures of stars such as Heidi Klum, Miranda Kerr and Hayden Panettiere retrieving their very own pair from a vending machine…that’s the kind of crowd I want to be a part of! My pair of shoes (I requested leopard print and the lovely folk at Rollasole kindly obliged) arrived packed in their own box with a handy drawstring bag. Available in three sizes (small, medium and large – I opted for medium and they fit my size 5 feet perfectly) these flexible shoes were surprisingly more robust than I had anticipated. After unfurling them from their gorgeous packaging I couldn’t wait to try them and let the good times roll! (pun intended!).

I had assumed the sole of the shoes would be quite thin in order to allow them to be folded or rolled into a handbag and was pleasantly surprised to find them to be a similar thickness to my every day ballet shoes. Varying from £9.95 for a classic pair to £19.95 for the deluxe (which I tested) these cute shoes have clearly been crafted with love and are more than a match for my regular high street flats. I tend to struggle with some flat shoes being too stiff at back and rubbing at my heels, but I had no such trouble with these animal print beauties. I took them for a little test wander through Clifton on a sun filled Sunday and can honestly say they were one of the comfiest pairs of flats I have worn. Not only would I be able to conveniently pop them into my bag as a savvy little saviour for tired feet at the end of a work day or evening out, I would confidently say that these flats are a stylish addition to my huge collection of pumps (trust me…I do love a ballet shoe!). I’ll definitely be checking out the rest of the Rollasole collection and sneaking a few more styles into my shoe wardrobe and I honestly think that you should too!

If you would like to peruse the range of fabulous styles that Rollasole is available in then you can shop the entire collection on their easy to use website.
