Hello again lovelies after my holiday absence! Even though I’ve only been away for just over two weeks it feels like a lifetime – perhaps also because (as you may have seen on my Instagram page) a very exciting event took place whilst we were on our trip – The Canadian proposed! I’m super excited and have already begun plans for the wedding…but more to come on that in a future post!
If you read my previous post My Top Summer Holiday Fashion Picks you will have seen just how much I struggle with my holiday wardrobe – please tell me I’m not alone in this? A beach holiday – easy peasy! A city holiday – no problem! An epic road trip encompassing two different countries, over 1000 miles of driving and temperatures of up to 46°… when I don’t own one pair of suitable shorts? Eek! As you may well know my personal style is an important part of who I am, and I like to keep a sense of myself whilst indulging in the wanderlust. So when JORD watches contacted me just before my holiday asking if I was interested in a collaboration I was thrilled!
A quick glance at the JORD website revealed that these watches were a unique twist on the standard timepiece. Granted, I haven’t actually worn a watch for a few years but when I spied their unusual wooden designs I was certainly intrigued! They have gorgeous ranges for both men and women and you can even customise your watch to make a unique engraved gift! I loved the natural aesthetic created through the use of sustainably sourced wood and when I read the phrase ‘We make our watches for people who don’t just have somewhere to be, they have somewhere to go’ I was sold!
After perusing the choice of watches available (trust me, I was spoilt for choice – they all look beautiful!) I decided upon the Frankie35 in Zebrawood with a striking navy face. I felt this slightly smaller sized watch would flatter my slim wrists and also coordinate with a wide range of outfits whilst looking smart and stylish.
I was even more in love with my watch when it finally arrived! It was packaged safely inside a wooden box and placed carefully around a soft pillow. Inside I had full care instructions including a wood oil and cloth and extra links should they be needed (I had provided JORD with my wrist measurement to ensure it fitted accurately – although I actually could do with a link being taken out so perhaps measure down slightly when you put your order in!). I was thrilled with my new accessory and as you can see it made the ideal travelling partner to keep me on schedule during what was a busy, fun-packed road trip! (I’ll give you all the details and a run down of our destinations along with my top tips in a future post!).
